Giftmark Privacy Policy
Giftmark is free to download, with an optional one-time Full Access in-app purchase. There is no subscription, no account, and no advertising.
Data Collection
Giftmark does not collect or receive personal data on servers operated by the developer. The app has no sign-up and does not include analytics, advertising, or third-party SDKs.
Data Stored by the App
The people, gift ideas (name, price, store, link, note, occasion, bought status), and budgets you enter are stored on your device.
iCloud
When you are signed in to iCloud, your lists are synced between your own devices through your private iCloud (CloudKit) account. This data is stored and managed by Apple and is not accessible to the developer.
With Full Access, you can share one person's list with another iCloud user through Apple's CloudKit sharing. The person you invite sees the list in their own iCloud and can mark items as bought; those marks stay on their device and are not shown to you. You choose whom to share with. You can stop sharing from the sharing screen on that person's page, so stop sharing before you delete a person.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, Giftmark works with local storage only.
Auto-fill and Apple Intelligence
The Full Access auto-fill feature reads text you paste into the app to suggest a name, price, and store. On devices that support Apple Intelligence this runs on your device using Apple's on-device model; on other devices a simple built-in link and price parser is used. The text is not sent to the developer.
Share Sheet and Shortcuts
When you save an idea with the Shortcuts action (which you can also set up to appear in the share sheet), the title, link, and note you provide are saved into your Giftmark list on your device.
Purchases
Full Access is a one-time purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment information.
Tracking and Permissions
Giftmark does not track you. It does not access your contacts, photo library, camera, location, or health data.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete a person, together with all of that person's gift ideas, inside the app, or delete the app to remove all data stored on your device. Data synced through iCloud can be removed from Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage. Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing further to delete on our side.
