MetroTick Privacy Policy

MetroTick is a metronome app for musicians. The app is free to use with ads, and a one-time in-app purchase (Full Access) removes ads and unlocks all features.

Data We Collect

The developer does not collect your presets, practice statistics, reminder settings, or any other data you create in the app. This data is saved on your device and is not sent to the developer or to any server we operate. Because it is saved in the app's on-device storage, it may be included in your device backups (for example an iCloud Backup or a computer backup), which are managed by Apple and you. If you use the app's export feature, the files you export are saved wherever you choose.

MetroTick does not require an account and does not use iCloud sync. Practice reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. When you turn on the reminder, the app asks for permission to send notifications; if you do not allow it, the reminder stays off. The app itself does not ask for access to your photo library, camera, microphone, or location. The Google SDKs described below may, however, process approximate location derived from your IP address when ads are shown (see below).

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads are not shown after you purchase Full Access, or if you bought an earlier paid version of MetroTick. Where required by law, Google's User Messaging Platform shows a consent form, and the app requests ads only when that platform reports that ads may be requested. You can review your choices later from the ad privacy option shown with the ad when it is available.

When ads are shown, Google may collect and process device and usage information such as your IP address, device identifiers, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. The Google SDKs may also collect crash data and performance and other diagnostic data about their own operation. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. The developer does not control or receive this data.

In the free version, after Google's consent message (if any), the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt once, asking whether the app may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you allow it, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may use the advertising identifier for advertising and analytics, including tracking. If you do not allow it, the SDK does not send the advertising identifier; ads are still shown, and all app features keep working. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Purchases

The in-app purchase (Full Access) is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment information. The app checks your purchase status with StoreKit on your device, and you can restore a previous purchase in Settings.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete a saved preset from the preset list in the app. Deleting the app (uninstalling it) removes the presets, practice statistics, and settings stored by the app on your device. An internal safety copy of your presets may remain in the app's storage until the app is uninstalled. Files you exported, and device backups made before you deleted data, are not removed by the app; delete them where you saved them. Because the developer does not collect your data, there is nothing to delete on our servers. For data held by Google AdMob, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
