PetChronicle Privacy Policy

Developer Data Collection

PetChronicle does not send your pet records to a developer-operated server. The app has no account system and does not include a standalone analytics SDK; the advertising SDK described below does process some data for analytics purposes as part of ad measurement. The third-party SDKs that communicate over the network are the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform SDK (consent management), both described under Advertising below. PetChronicle asks for App Tracking Transparency permission only for advertising (see Advertising below) and does not request permission to access your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, or Apple Health data. The advertising SDKs may nevertheless process approximate location (see Advertising below).

Advertising

The free version of PetChronicle shows a banner ad at the bottom of the app using Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). The SDK may process IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, approximate location, performance data, and crash and diagnostic data for advertising, analytics, measurement, and fraud prevention. Where required, consent choices are requested through Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are requested. If the consent check or consent form fails, the SDK may rely on the consent status saved from an earlier session, so ads may still be requested (that SDK may process approximate location, performance, and interaction data to determine and record your consent status), and, when the ad SDK reports that privacy options are required in your region, you can reopen those choices from the ad privacy link shown above the banner. Ads are not shown to users with an active paid entitlement. Your pet records are not shared with the ad SDK.

After the consent step, the free version asks once, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used to show ads more relevant to you. If you do not allow it, ads are still shown but the Google Mobile Ads SDK does not receive the IDFA, and all app features remain available. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Accounts

PetChronicle does not require a user account.

User-Initiated Export and Sharing

PetChronicle can create a PDF for a pet and date range you choose. It includes that pet's records in the date range and that pet's medications. The PDF leaves the app only when you explicitly choose a destination with the iOS share sheet. The privacy practices of that destination are controlled by its provider.

Notifications

PetChronicle may request local notification permission for medication or care reminders. Notification permission can be changed in iOS Settings.

Notification titles and bodies can include the reminder name and pet name. iOS may show this content on the Lock Screen depending on your notification preview settings.

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. PetChronicle does not receive or store your payment card information.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete individual medical events and medications inside the app. Deleting the PetChronicle app (uninstalling it) removes its locally stored pet records from your device. Copies you exported as PDF or that are included in your own device backups are controlled by you and must be deleted separately. Because the developer does not receive your records, there is no server-side copy to erase.
