PricePerUnit Privacy Policy
PricePerUnit is free to download, with an optional one-time Full Access in-app purchase. The free version shows ads. The app has no account and no server of ours, and we do not run our own analytics: your comparisons are not sent to us. The free version includes Google's advertising SDK, which collects its own data as described below.
Data stored on your device
The prices, quantities, units, optional item and store names, and saved comparison history you enter are stored on your device, in the app's UserDefaults storage. Your settings (default unit, currency choice) are stored there too. We do not collect this data and it is never sent to us. The app itself has no iCloud or sync feature, but like other app data on iOS, it may be included in your iPhone or iPad backups (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup) according to your device's backup settings. The app does not request access to your camera, photos, location, contacts, or other device data.
If you choose to export your history as CSV (Full Access) or share a comparison result, the file or text goes where you send it through the iOS share or save sheet. We do not receive it.
Data we collect
We do not collect any personal information ourselves. The app's own privacy manifest declares the data the advertising SDK uses in the free version: device ID and advertising data, used for tracking (third-party advertising and analytics), and product interaction and crash data, not used for tracking. Its only data-access declaration is UserDefaults, for storing your history and settings on the device. The Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform bundled in the free version have their own privacy manifests, which declare data such as diagnostics, performance, crash data, approximate location, advertising data, product interaction and device identifiers, including for analytics and advertising purposes.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of PricePerUnit shows a banner ad provided by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads are not shown once Full Access is purchased. Before requesting ads, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for consent where required by law, and, in the free version, shows a privacy options button above the ad area when Google's SDK reports that one is required. The button is not shown after Full Access is purchased. Ads are limited to a general content rating. Whether ads are requested depends on Google's consent status (whether ads can be requested under the choices you make and the rules of your region), not only on whether you granted consent; depending on that status, limited or non-personalized ads may be requested. If updating the consent information or showing the consent form fails, the app still uses the consent status the SDK already holds (for example, from an earlier session), and may request ads if that status allows it.
Google may collect and process data such as your device's IP address and ad identifiers, and ad interaction and diagnostic data, to deliver and measure ads, as described in Google's advertising policies. We do not receive your comparison data, and we do not share it with Google.
Tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency): in the free version, after Google's consent message (where it is shown), iOS asks once whether the app may track you, to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you allow it, Google's SDK may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA); if you ask the app not to track, the identifier is not shared and ads are still shown. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The request is not shown after Full Access is purchased.
Purchases
Full Access is a one-time purchase (no subscription) processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment information. The app checks your purchase status with StoreKit on your device. Customers of the earlier paid version receive Full Access automatically. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
Swipe a history entry to delete it, or delete the app to remove the comparison history and settings stored inside the app from your device. Deleting the app does not remove copies you exported or shared (such as a CSV file or shared text saved elsewhere), nor copies in device backups; delete those separately. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
