QuoteBook Privacy Policy
QuoteBook is free to download with an optional one-time Full Access in-app purchase. There is no subscription. The developer does not collect your quotes or any personal data.
Data Collection and Storage
QuoteBook does not collect personal data on servers operated by the developer, and the app has no accounts or sign-in.
The quotes, authors, sources, categories, custom classifications, and favorites you enter, and the preset quotes included with the app, are stored in a file in the app's Documents folder on your device. App settings (such as the daily notification time) are stored in UserDefaults on your device. The text, author, and source of the quote of the day, plus the total number of quotes, are shared only between the QuoteBook app and its Home Screen widget through Apple's App Group storage so the widget can show it.
QuoteBook does not use CloudKit or its own cloud sync. If you use iCloud Backup or a device backup, your device may include the app's data in that backup under your Apple settings.
Photos & Media
When you tap Save on a quote card, QuoteBook adds the generated card image to your photo library. This uses the add-only photo permission (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription); QuoteBook does not read or browse your photos and does not access your camera. You can revoke the permission in iOS Settings at any time.
The Share button opens the standard iOS share sheet. What happens to a shared card depends on the app or service you choose; QuoteBook does not send it anywhere itself.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily quote notification, QuoteBook asks for notification permission and schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. It contains a quote from your collection and is not sent through any server.
Export and Import
Bulk import uses text you type or paste into the app. Markdown and CSV export (a Full Access feature) saves a file to a location you choose through the iOS file picker. QuoteBook does not upload these files.
Purchases
The optional Full Access purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. QuoteBook never sees your payment information. The app checks your purchase entitlement with Apple and, for people who bought an earlier paid version, keeps a flag in the iOS Keychain on your device so access is not lost.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
QuoteBook itself contains no analytics code and sends nothing to the developer (the app's own privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking as false and no collected data types). The bundled Google SDKs described below are separate: Google's privacy manifest for the Google Mobile Ads SDK declares device identifiers as used for tracking and lists analytics among the purposes of its data collection. The app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
The free version integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent. Ads are only requested for people who have not unlocked Full Access, only after consent where required, and only when ad identifiers are configured in the build. When ads are requested, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process IP address, approximate (coarse) location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash logs, and performance data for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. The UMP SDK, which runs before ads are requested, declares that it collects approximate location, performance data, and product interaction data for app functionality. Your quotes are not shared with Google.

Deleting Your Data
You can delete any quote inside the app. Deleting the app (uninstall) removes the quotes, settings, and the widget data stored on your device. Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing on our side to delete. To remove device backups, use your iCloud or device backup settings.
Children
The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because QuoteBook sends nothing to the developer. In the free version, the bundled Google Mobile Ads SDK and UMP SDK may process the data described above (for example device identifiers and approximate location) independently of the developer.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
