📦 Data Storage

The Match Size (calibration) value, unit preferences, and the measurements you save to History (name, length, note, and project) are stored on your device using Apple's UserDefaults. This data is not sent to the developer.

• RulerApp has no account, no servers, and no cloud sync of its own
• The Match Size value is also copied to an App Group on the same device so that the RulerApp share extension (which shows sizes you select in Safari at real size) can use it. This copy stays on your device
• Like other app data, this data can be included in your iOS device backups (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer) and restored from them. Those backups are handled by Apple and your computer, not by the developer

📤 When Data Leaves the App

Your measurements leave RulerApp only through actions you take yourself:

• Share and export — exporting History as a CSV file or image, or sharing an annotated photo from Photo Dimensions, uses the iOS share sheet. The data goes to the app, service, or location you choose (for example Messages, Files, or Save Image to Photos)
• Plan export (Camera Measure) — Export plan (PNG/PDF) creates two files, a PNG image and a PDF, each showing a top view of your camera measurements with their values, a scale bar, a list of the results, and the date and time. Both files are passed to the iOS share sheet and go to the app, service, or location you choose
• Copy — Copy measurement (Ruler) and Copy sizes (Ring size) put the text on the iOS clipboard, where other apps you paste into can read it. When Handoff is on, iOS may also make the clipboard available to your nearby devices signed in to the same Apple Account (Universal Clipboard)

🔐 Device Permissions

RulerApp asks for each tool permission below (camera, microphone, photo library, location, and motion) only when you open the tool that needs it. You can turn any of these permissions off later in the iOS Settings app; the other tools keep working. App Tracking Transparency permission is not tied to a tool: the free version asks for it once, after the introduction screen and Google's consent message, as described in Advertising (Google AdMob) below.

• Camera — used by Camera Measure (AR) and to take a photo in Photo Dimensions. The camera image and photos are processed on your device and are not sent to the developer.
• Microphone — used only by the Sound Meter to show the current sound level. Audio is not recorded or saved.
• Photo library (add only) — used only when you choose Save Image in the share sheet for an annotated photo from Photo Dimensions. RulerApp does not request permission to read your photo library; you choose a photo with the system photo picker, which gives the app only the photo you pick.
• Location (while using the app) — used only by the Altimeter & Barometer to show your coordinates and elevation. RulerApp first asks for this permission when you tap Show my location. After you allow it, the app gets your location while the Altimeter & Barometer screen is open and stops when you leave the screen. Your location is shown on your device and is not stored or sent to the developer.
• Motion and air pressure — the Spirit Level and Plumb Line read the motion sensors, and the Altimeter & Barometer reads air pressure and height changes. These readings are used on your device only and are not stored or sent.

🗑️ Deleting Your Data

You can delete a saved measurement in History (swipe the item, or open it and choose Delete measurement). Deleting the app (uninstalling it) removes the Match Size value, preferences, and saved measurements stored by the app on your device.

Deleting a measurement or the app does not remove copies that already left the app. Delete them separately where they are: CSV files and images you exported, plan PNG and PDF files you exported from Camera Measure, annotated photos you saved to Photos, items you sent to other apps or people, text on the clipboard, and existing iCloud or computer backups of your device. Because the developer does not collect your data, there is nothing to delete on our servers. For data held by Google AdMob, see Google's Privacy Policy.

🚫 Data the Developer Does NOT Collect

The developer of RulerApp does not collect, store, or receive any of the following:

• Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number)
• Your measurements, notes, or calibration data
• Location data
• Camera images, photos, or audio
• Usage analytics from an analytics service of the developer's own (RulerApp has none)

RulerApp does not require an account, and the app's own code does not send data to the developer. In the free version, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app collects data for advertising and analytics, as described in the next section.

📡 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of RulerApp shows banner ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads are not shown after you purchase Full Access, or if you bought an earlier paid version of RulerApp. Ads are not shown on the Ruler screen while you measure.

Consent. Where required by law, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK shows a consent message when you use the free version (on first launch, after you close the introduction screen). You can review your choices later with the Ad Privacy button shown with the ad (when it is required in your region). If updating your consent information or showing the message fails (for example, when you are offline), the app does not stop there: it goes on to ask for App Tracking Transparency permission (if it has not asked before), re-reads your consent status, and starts Google's ad SDK. Ads are loaded only when Google's SDK reports that ads can be requested, and that depends on the consent status saved from your previous session, so ads can be shown based on that earlier choice. While the app cannot tell whether the Ad Privacy button is required in your region, it does not show the banner. After a failure, the app checks again a little later, up to two more times.

Data collected by Google's SDKs. The Google Mobile Ads SDK and the UMP SDK are built into the free version and collect data themselves. According to Google's data disclosure and the privacy manifests shipped with these SDKs, this includes:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate the general (coarse) location of the device
• Device identifiers, such as the advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking) or app- and developer-scoped identifiers
• Advertising data, such as the ads you have seen
• Product interaction, such as app launches, taps, and interaction with ads
• Diagnostic data, such as crash logs, performance data (for example app launch time, hang rate, or energy usage), and other diagnostic information

Google uses this data for advertising (delivering and measuring ads), analytics, and diagnosing and improving its SDKs; the UMP SDK uses it to manage your consent. The developer does not receive this data itself, only aggregated ad reports from Google. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

• After Google's consent message (or after trying to show it, if it could not be shown), RulerApp asks once for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show more relevant ads. If you deny it, ads are still shown, but the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
• Apart from the Google SDKs above, RulerApp contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs of its own (no Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Crashlytics), and no A/B testing or remote configuration services

💳 Purchases and Payments

RulerApp is free to download. Full Access is a one-time in-app purchase via the App Store that removes ads and unlocks Ring size, the Camera Measure (AR) modes other than Distance and plan export, Photo Dimensions, and unlimited saved measurements with Export all. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. The app checks your purchase status with StoreKit on your device, and you can restore a previous purchase in the app.

• RulerApp never sees, receives, or stores your payment information
• No credit card numbers, Apple ID credentials, or financial data passes through RulerApp
• There are no subscriptions or recurring charges

👶 Children's Privacy

The developer of RulerApp does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob as described above.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. We will notify users of material changes through an App Store update description.

Continued use of RulerApp after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

🇯🇵 日本語プライバシーポリシー概要

RulerAppはお客様が作成したデータ（長さ合わせの値、単位設定、履歴に保存した測定値）を端末内（UserDefaults）に保存し、開発者には送信しません。アカウント登録は不要で、アプリ独自のサーバやクラウド同期はありません。長さ合わせの値は、共有の拡張（Safariで選んだ寸法を実寸で表示する機能）が使えるよう、同じ端末内のApp Groupにも写します。これらのデータは、他のアプリのデータと同じく、iOSのバックアップ（iCloudバックアップやパソコンへのバックアップ）に含まれ、そこから復元されることがあります。

測定値がアプリの外へ出るのは、お客様自身が次の操作をしたときです。履歴のCSV・画像の書き出しや「写真に寸法を書く」の画像の共有（共有シートで選んだアプリ・保存先へ送られます）、「カメラで測る（AR）」の「図面を書き出す（PNG/PDF）」（測った形を上から見た図に、測定値・縮尺・結果の一覧・日時を入れたPNG画像とPDFの2つのファイルを作り、共有シートで選んだアプリ・保存先へ送ります）と、「測定値をコピー」（定規）・「サイズをコピー」（指輪のサイズ）によるクリップボードへのコピーです。コピーした内容は貼り付け先のアプリが読めます。また、Handoffがオンなどの条件がそろうと、同じApple Accountでサインインした近くの端末にもユニバーサルクリップボードで共有されることがあります。

無料版ではGoogle AdMobのバナー広告を表示します（測定中の定規の画面には出しません）。アプリに組み込んだGoogle Mobile Ads SDKとUser Messaging Platform（UMP）SDKは、Googleの説明と各SDKのプライバシーマニフェストのとおり、IPアドレス（端末のおおよその位置の推定に使われることがあります）、デバイス識別子、見た広告などの広告データ、起動・タップなどの操作情報、クラッシュログ・パフォーマンスなどの診断情報を自ら収集し、広告の配信・測定、分析、SDKの診断・改善、同意の管理に使います。アプリ独自の分析・クラッシュ報告のSDK（Firebase Analytics、Crashlyticsなど）は入っていません。

必要な地域では、無料版を使うとき（初回は使い方の案内を閉じたあと）にGoogleの同意メッセージを表示し、そのあとに（メッセージを出せなかったときも）App Tracking Transparency（トラッキングの許可）を1回だけ求めます。許可しない場合も広告は表示されますが、広告識別子（IDFA）は送られません。同意情報の更新やメッセージの表示に失敗したとき（オフラインなど）も、アプリはそこで止まらず、トラッキングの許可の確認（まだ尋ねていない場合）、同意の状態の読み直し、GoogleのSDKの起動へ進みます。広告を読み込むのは、GoogleのSDKが「広告を要求できる」と判定したときだけで、この判定は前回保存された同意の状態によるため、以前の選択にもとづいて広告が表示されることがあります。お住まいの地域で「広告プライバシー」のボタンが必要かを判定できない間は、バナーを表示しません。失敗したときは、少し時間をおいて最大2回まで確認をやり直します。選択は広告とともに表示される「広告プライバシー」から見直せます（必要な地域のみ）。Full Access（買い切り）を購入すると広告は表示されません。

カメラ・マイク・写真への追加・位置情報・モーションの権限は、それを使う道具を開いたときにだけ求めます。あとからiOSの設定アプリでオフにしても、ほかの道具は使えます。トラッキングの許可（App Tracking Transparency）は道具の権限ではなく、上の広告の説明のとおり、無料版で初回の案内とGoogleの同意メッセージのあとに1回だけ求めます。

カメラ（「カメラで測る（AR）」「写真に寸法を書く」）の映像や写真は端末内で使い、送信しません。マイク（騒音計）は音の大きさを表示するだけで、録音・保存しません。写真への追加の権限は、共有シートで「画像を保存」を選んだときだけ使います（写真はシステムの写真ピッカーで選ぶため、ライブラリの読み取りの権限は求めません）。位置情報は気圧・標高計だけが使います。初めて許可を求めるのは「現在地を表示」を押したときで、許可したあとは、気圧・標高計の画面を開いている間に現在地を取得し、画面を閉じると止めます。位置は端末内で表示するだけで、保存・送信しません。水平器・下げ振り・気圧計のモーション・気圧のデータは端末内でのみ使います。

保存した測定値は履歴画面で削除できます。アプリを削除すると、アプリが端末内に保存したデータ（長さ合わせの値・設定・履歴）は消えます。ただし、すでにアプリの外に出たもの（書き出したCSV・画像、「カメラで測る（AR）」から書き出した図面のPNG・PDF、写真に保存した画像、共有先のアプリや相手に送ったもの、クリップボードの内容、既存のiCloud・パソコンのバックアップ）は消えないため、それぞれの場所で別に削除してください。

お支払いはAppleのApp Storeを通じて処理され、RulerAppが決済情報を取得することはありません。
