SomedayList Privacy Policy

SomedayList is a goal list app with an optional one-time purchase (SomedayList Pro) that removes the free-tier goal limit.

Data Collection

SomedayList does not operate any servers and does not collect or receive your personal data. There is no account, sign-up, or analytics.

The goals you create — title, note, target date, next step, list name, reminder days and time, an optional place (its name and map coordinates), achievement date, achievement story, and optional achievement photos — are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your goals are also synced to your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit framework, so they appear on your other devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is never sent to or accessible by the developer. Sync uses silent background push notifications; these do not appear as visible alerts and are unrelated to advertising.

Shared Lists

Shared lists are kept separately from your personal goals. When you create a shared list, its name and the goals in it (title, achieved status, and creation and achievement dates) are stored in your iCloud account using CloudKit. If you invite people with Apple's iCloud sharing screen, everyone you invite can view, add, check off, and delete goals in that list. If you accept an invitation, the list stays in the inviter's iCloud account and the items you add or change are saved there. The developer cannot access shared lists. Your personal goals are never added to a shared list.

Places

You can attach a place to a goal by searching for it by name. The search text you enter is sent to Apple through Apple's MapKit search service (MKLocalSearch) to find matching places, and the name and coordinates of the place you choose are saved with the goal. SomedayList does not request or use your device's current location.

Reminders

If you turn on a reminder for a goal, SomedayList asks for permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device for the days and time you choose and show the goal title and its next step with a sound. Depending on your notification settings, this text can appear on the Lock Screen. You can turn off a reminder in the goal, or turn off notifications for SomedayList in the Settings app.

Sharing Achievements

When you choose to share an achievement, SomedayList creates an image containing the goal title, achievement date, your achievement story, and its first achievement photo (if any), and passes it to the iOS share sheet. The image goes only to the app or person you pick there. Copies you share are kept by the recipient or the receiving app and are not removed when you delete the goal data or the app.

Photos

When you attach an achievement photo to a goal, SomedayList uses Apple's system Photos picker, which runs outside the app and only shares the photo you explicitly select. SomedayList does not request or receive access to your full photo library.

Widget

The SomedayList Home Screen widget reads your goal data from a local App Group container shared only between the SomedayList app and its widget on your device. This data never leaves your device through the widget.

Purchases

SomedayList Pro is a one-time (non-consumable) in-app purchase, not a subscription, purchased and managed entirely through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Payment information is handled by Apple; SomedayList does not see or store your payment details. See Apple's Standard License Agreement for purchase terms.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

SomedayList does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs of any kind, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Data Deletion

The app does not currently provide a way to delete an individual personal goal. In a shared list, you can delete a goal by swiping it; the list's creator can delete the whole list (it is also removed for everyone invited), and an invited person can leave the list. Deleting (uninstalling) the app removes all locally stored goals; if iCloud sync was enabled, you can also manage or remove the data that apps keep in iCloud as described in Apple's guide to apps using iCloud.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
