SpeedRead Privacy Policy
SpeedRead is a speed reading trainer app. It is free to download with banner ads, and an optional one-time in-app purchase unlocks full access and removes ads. Users who bought the earlier paid version keep full access.
Data Collection
SpeedRead does not collect or receive personal data on servers operated by the developer. We have no accounts and no developer-operated backend.
Your reading sessions (date, speed, word count), saved texts, streak, and settings are stored locally on your device. Text you paste or type is processed on the device only. You can export your session history as a CSV file from the History screen; the file is saved only where you choose.
SpeedRead itself does not use iCloud sync, Apple Health, contacts, camera, or photo library, and does not request location permission. The bundled Google SDKs declare that they may collect approximate location (coarse location) as described in the advertising section below.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The free version uses Google AdMob to display banner ads at the bottom of the app screens. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process approximate location, IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash logs, and performance data for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Consent choices are requested where required through Google's User Messaging Platform, and an “Ad Privacy” link to change them appears just above the ad banner while ads are shown, in regions where Google's User Messaging Platform reports that a privacy options entry point is required. After you unlock full access, ads and this link are no longer shown. If the consent check or the consent form fails, the app follows the consent choice already saved on your device by Google's User Messaging Platform, and does not request ads if no such choice allows it. Full access removes ads. SpeedRead does not send your texts or reading history to advertisers and contains no other third-party analytics SDK.
After the consent step, the free version asks once, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, for permission to use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you allow it, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may use the advertising identifier and advertising data for tracking as described above. If you don't allow it, ads are still shown but the advertising identifier is not shared, and all app features keep working. You can change this at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Purchases
The optional one-time full access purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. SpeedRead receives the purchase status and the transaction details needed to verify it (such as the product and whether it was refunded) from Apple, and does not receive your payment information. You can restore a previous purchase from Settings or the purchase screen.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete your reading history in Settings with Clear All History, and delete individual sessions or saved texts in the app. Uninstalling SpeedRead deletes the data it stores inside the app on your device. Your reading sessions and saved texts are stored in the app's Documents folder, so copies may remain in an iCloud or computer backup of your device made before you deleted them, until that backup is deleted or replaced. A CSV file you exported is saved where you chose, outside the app, and is not removed by Clear All History or by uninstalling; delete it yourself in Files or wherever you saved it. Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing to erase on our side. Ad-related data handled by Google is governed by Google's policies and your device's advertising settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
