VoiceMemo Privacy Policy
VoiceMemo is a voice recorder app. The app is free to use with ads, and a one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full version.
Data We Collect
The developer does not collect your recordings, notes, tags, folders, or any other content you create in the app. This data is stored on your device, in the app's Documents folder, and is not sent to the developer or to any server we operate. The app itself sends a recording elsewhere only when you explicitly choose a destination with the iOS share sheet.
The app does not use iCloud sync, Apple Health, or any account system. However, the app's Documents folder is not excluded from device backups, so if you back up your device with iCloud Backup or to a computer, iOS may include your recordings in that backup under your Apple account or on your computer. The developer cannot access it.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads are not shown after you purchase the full version. Each time the app starts, it asks Google's User Messaging Platform to update your consent status and shows the consent form where required. If that check or the form fails, the Google SDK may still use a choice you saved earlier to decide whether ads can be requested. Where the form is required, an "Ad Privacy" button appears above the banner so you can review or change your choice later.
When ads are shown, Google may collect and process device and usage information such as your IP address, device identifiers, approximate location, ad interaction data, and performance, crash, and diagnostic data to serve and measure ads. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. In the free version, after the consent step the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt once, asking whether ads may use your device's advertising identifier. If you do not allow it, all app features still work and ads are still shown, but the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this later in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The Google Mobile Ads SDK bundled with the app declares in its privacy manifest that it collects a device ID and uses it for tracking, third-party advertising, and analytics, so ads may be personalized depending on your choices in the consent form, the tracking prompt, and your device settings.
Purchases
The in-app purchase (Full Access) is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment information. The app checks your purchase status with StoreKit on your device, and you can restore a previous purchase from within the app.
Microphone
VoiceMemo accesses your device microphone solely to record audio at your request. Recordings are stored on your device and are never sent to the developer. The app sends a recording elsewhere only when you explicitly choose to share it; device backups are described above.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete any recording in the app by swiping it in the list and confirming deletion. Deleting the app (uninstalling it) removes all recordings and settings stored by the app on your device. Copies you shared and device backups are not deleted by the app. Because the developer does not collect your data, there is nothing to delete on our servers.
