WarrantyBox Privacy Policy
WarrantyBox is free to download, with an optional one-time Full Access in-app purchase. There is no subscription.
Data Collection
WarrantyBox does not collect or receive personal data on servers operated by the developer. The developer has no account system and does not run its own analytics; the ads SDK described below may process data for analytics.
The products, purchase dates, warranty periods, notes, and warranty or receipt photos you enter are stored on your device, in the app's private storage, and WarrantyBox does not upload them to any server of its own. Because this data lives in the app's Documents folder, it is included in your iPhone or iPad backups (iCloud Backup or computer backup) if you have those turned on; those backups are managed by Apple and your device settings, not by the developer. Photos are saved as JPEG files inside the app and are not written to your Photos library.
Camera and Photos
The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo of a warranty card or receipt. You can also pick existing photos with the system photo picker, which gives WarrantyBox access only to the photos you select, not to your whole library. Camera permission can be revoked in Settings.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, WarrantyBox schedules local reminders on your device before warranties expire. They are not sent through any server.
Backup and Export
With Full Access, you can create an encrypted backup file, a CSV ledger, or a repair PDF for a product. The repair PDF is not encrypted and includes the product details, purchase date, warranty expiry, any memo you wrote, and the warranty and receipt photos you attached. These files are created on your device and leave it only if you choose to share them with another app or person; once shared, the copy is controlled by that app or person.
Advertising, Purchases, and Tracking
The free version uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display banner ads. The SDK may process your IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, approximate (coarse) location, product interactions, crash logs, and performance data for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Google's User Messaging Platform, also bundled in the app, may likewise process approximate location to provide the consent feature. Consent choices are requested where required through that platform. If the consent check cannot be completed, the app does not request ads right after that failure; it may request ads again later in the same launch if a later consent check or privacy-options form succeeds. A privacy-options button appears in the app where the consent platform requires it, so you can change your choices. Ads are not shown once Full Access is unlocked, but that button may still appear after unlocking if the consent platform requires it.
In the free version, after the consent step, the app asks once for permission to track you through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, so that ads can be more relevant to you. The device's advertising identifier and advertising data may be used for tracking only if you allow it. Ads are shown whether you allow or decline; if you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared with the ads SDK. You can change this choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The prompt is not shown once Full Access is unlocked.

The Full Access purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment information.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete an individual product and its photos inside the app. Deleting a product from its detail screen also cancels its scheduled reminders. Deleting it by swiping in the product list does not cancel them, so reminders that include the product's name may still appear on your device later; you can turn them off in Settings > Notifications > WarrantyBox. Deleting (uninstalling) the app removes the products and photos it stores on your device. It does not remove the record of your Full Access unlock, which is kept in the iOS Keychain and may remain after uninstalling; it does not remove device backups made by Apple; and it does not remove backup files, CSV files, or PDFs you already shared with other apps or people. When you create a backup, CSV, or PDF, the app first saves a copy in its temporary folder on your device; that copy may contain product details and photos. When you delete a product in the app, the app tries to delete the repair PDF for that product and the backup and CSV copies, but a deletion can fail without notice, and copies you have not deleted this way remain until iOS clears temporary files on its own (the app does not guarantee when). Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing to erase on our side.
