Features
- Batch remove EXIF data from multiple photos and videos at once. Live Photos are processed as still images: only the photo is cleaned, and the saved or shared copy does not include the Live Photo motion (video) part.
- Choose what to remove from photos (GPS location, camera model, timestamps, and more) with selective settings and presets. Videos are cleaned with a fixed setting that removes their metadata for sharing; the selective settings and presets do not apply to videos.
- View the EXIF, IPTC, and other metadata fields that iOS reads from the original photo, plus its top-level XMP fields (XMP qualifiers, such as language tags, are not shown), and after removal compare the main metadata items before and after.
- Import from the photo library (with a browser and filters such as photos with or without location) or from Files.
- See where a photo was taken on a map.
- Edit date, location, author, and copyright, and copy metadata.
- Show a single "found / not found" indicator for metadata hints of AI generation. It is a simple text check, and it shows "found" when any of these is true: the XMP DigitalSourceType field has an algorithmic-media value; the TIFF Software or Image Description field, or the PNG Software or Description field, contains a known generator name (such as Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, or Firefly); a PNG "Parameters" text field contains "Steps:"; or the first 4 MB of the file contain both the text "c2pa" and "jumb" (a sign of C2PA data; the C2PA data itself is not read or verified). The app does not show which of these was found, and the image content is not analyzed. C2PA data can also appear on camera photos, so a "found" result is not proof of AI generation.
- Save cleaned photos to your library as new items, optionally delete the originals after saving, or share them.
- Use ExifWipe from the share sheet of other apps (action extension).
- Processing happens on-device. Maps, iCloud downloads, and anything you share use the network as described in the Privacy Policy.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure photo library permission is granted in Settings > ExifWipe.
- Force-quit and relaunch the app if it becomes unresponsive.
- Ensure your device is running the latest iOS/iPadOS version.
- Delete and reinstall the app if issues persist (the app’s settings will be reset; photos already saved to your library or shared stay where they are).
