Laborbeat Privacy Policy

Laborbeat is free to download, with an optional one-time Full Access in-app purchase. There is no subscription, and the app shows no ads.

Data Collection

Laborbeat does not collect or receive personal data on servers operated by the developer. The app has no account, and it does not include analytics, advertising, or other third-party SDKs.

Data the App Stores

Your contraction records (start and end times, intensity, and notes) are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they are also synced through your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database to your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID, such as a second iPhone or your Apple Watch. This data is held by Apple under your iCloud settings; the developer cannot access it.

The time your waters broke, kick counter sessions, weight entries, the hospital bag checklist, and your alert settings are kept in the app's local settings storage on your device. The app does not sync them through iCloud. Like other app data, they may be included in your device backups (for example iCloud Backup), depending on your device settings.

The app and its widget read the same contraction records from a shared storage area on your device (Apple's App Group). The Live Activity is given the start time of the current contraction. Apple Watch uses the same iCloud sync as above, and all of your contraction records are available there.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the hospital alert is scheduled locally on your device based on your recorded contractions. No notification content is sent to the developer.

On-Device Summary

The visit summary for Full Access is written on your device, using Apple's on-device model where available or a built-in template. Your records are not sent to the developer or to any other server for this purpose. Laborbeat does not read data from Apple Health.

Sharing

Laborbeat only shares your records when you choose to, for example with the Send summary or Send all records buttons, through the iOS share sheet to the app and recipient you pick.

Purchases

The Full Access purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. The developer does not receive your payment information.

Tracking

Laborbeat does not track you and does not use advertising identifiers.

Deleting Your Data

Delete individual contractions in the History tab. Deleting the app removes the data stored only on your device. To remove records synced to iCloud, go to Settings > your name > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Laborbeat and delete the data.

Medical Disclaimer

Laborbeat does not replace medical advice. If you are worried, contact your hospital or midwife.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
