Snore & Talk Recorder Privacy Policy
Snore & Talk Recorder (com.smallappworks.snorenight) does not collect or receive your data on any server operated by the developer. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics SDK.
Microphone and Recordings
While you record a night, the app uses the microphone and Apple's on-device sound classification to detect snoring and sleep talking. Only short clips around detected events are saved, together with their time, type, and volume. Sound analysis runs on your device and audio is never sent to the developer.
Storage and iCloud
Nights and event recordings (including the short audio clips) are stored on your device. Tags are stored with them. When iCloud sync is available for the app, they are also saved to your own private iCloud database (CloudKit) so they can come back after reinstalling or switching iPhones. This data is held by Apple under your Apple ID; the developer cannot access it. If iCloud sync is not available (for example, you are not signed in to iCloud), the app keeps the data on the device only. Settings such as the wake-up alarm and whether you connected Apple Health are kept in the app's local settings storage (UserDefaults); the app does not sync them to iCloud, but, like other app data on the device, they can be included in device backups. The recordings folder is not excluded from iOS device backups, so recordings can also be included in backups you make with your computer or iCloud Backup.
A small summary of your last night (for example, snore counts) is shared between the app and its widget through Apple's App Group storage on your device.
Apple Health
If you allow it, the app reads your sleep analysis and heart rate from Apple Health to show them alongside your snoring. Access is read-only: the app does not write to Health. Health data is not sent to the developer and is not used for advertising or analytics. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings or the Health app.
Morning Summary
The morning report is part of the Full Access purchase. A fixed template is shown by default. On devices and OS versions where Apple Intelligence is available, you can tap a button to have the summary text written by Apple's on-device Foundation Models; if the first attempt fails, the template stays on screen, and if a later rewrite fails, the previous summary stays. Nothing is sent to the developer.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules a local wake-up alarm on your device.
Purchases, Advertising, and Tracking
The app is free to download with an optional one-time in-app purchase (Full Access). There is no subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit; the developer does not receive your payment information. The app shows no ads and does not track you.
Deleting Your Data
Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. Data saved in your iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage. Health data is managed in the Health app. Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing to delete on our side.
Photos & Media
The app does not access your photo library or camera.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
