TextRuler Privacy Policy
TextRuler is free to download with ads, and offers an optional one-time Full Access in-app purchase that removes ads and unlocks extra tools. There is no subscription.
Data Collection
TextRuler does not collect or receive your text or personal data on servers operated by the developer. The app has no account system and no developer-operated backend.
The text you type or paste is analyzed on your device. The last text you entered, saved text snapshots (history), and your settings (goal and reading pace) are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. The app itself sends text outside your device only when you choose to copy it, share it, or export it (CSV or PDF) using the iOS share sheet. The app has no iCloud sync, but because this data is stored in UserDefaults, it is included in device backups (such as iCloud Backup or a computer backup) according to your iOS backup settings.
TextRuler only reads the clipboard when you tap the Paste button.
Advertising and Tracking
The free version uses Google AdMob to display a banner ad. The Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK may process your IP address, approximate location (for example, inferred from your IP address), device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash logs, and performance data for advertising, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, and consent management. Where required, consent choices are requested through UMP. A privacy options button is shown above the ad banner area whenever privacy options are required for you, including when you declined consent and no ads are requested, so you can change your choices; it is not shown after Full Access is unlocked. Ad requests are set to general content rating, and your text and statistics are never sent with ad requests.
In the free version, after the consent step above, TextRuler asks once for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, so that ads can be more relevant to you. If you allow it, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you do not allow it, ads are still shown, but the SDK does not receive the advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The developer does not receive this identifier. The app's privacy manifest declares tracking for device identifiers and advertising data used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Full Access removes ads, and the ATT prompt is not shown after Full Access is unlocked.

In-App Purchase
The optional Full Access purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. The developer does not receive your payment information. Purchase status is verified on your device, and a local flag is cached on your device so Full Access is remembered.
Permissions
TextRuler does not request access to your photo library, camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendars, or Apple Health. It does not use iCloud.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete a saved snapshot by swiping it in the History screen, and clear the current text with the Clear button. Deleting the app from your device erases the text, history, and settings stored inside TextRuler. Copies you made elsewhere (shared or exported text, CSV/PDF files, clipboard) and existing device backups are not deleted; remove them separately. Because the developer does not collect your data, there is nothing to delete on the developer's side.
